This code is on the plate attached to the radiator crossbrace under the heading PNT or
Paint. If the letters are different, the first letter denotes the roof color in a two-tone
car, the second letter the body color. The third letter specifies the color of the
horizontal bands on the sides of the car. When two or three colors are not used, the three
letters are the same. Letters in bold face designate standard factory colors, the others
having been available by special order ( shown by a 999 code) .
