A CHRYSLER 300 F living in France.. |

Imported in 1960, this 300F was imatriculated May 4 in Eure (district northwest of Paris, near Normandie area). Two Paris garages owned it successively in 1963, after which it headed for the lower Loire valley, where it remains.
The present owner found the 300F in 1982 among ten cars stored in a barn a few miles from Nantes. It was in pathetic shape. Idle there for 16 years, it had been attacked by thieves and vandals. The back window had been smashed to gain entry, and the dashboard was looted of everything removable
In spite of the cars poor condition, and not yet aware of the rarity revealed by the "300" emblems on it, the buyer closed the deal in June 1982.

Restoration was a long process, carried out a little at a time. Among the major items, the engine was largely rebuilt in 1987, and body restoration went on from September 1992 until June 1993. The passage of years gave time for every missing part to be matched, with help from the Chrysler 300 Club in the U.S., the car regaining some of its pristine allure at every step.
