| Ces 3 images datent d'il y a près de 20 ans. Elles montrent qu'on ne
prenait pas beaucoup de cas des "américaines" dans les années 80 ! Une IMPERIAL
1959 (4 dr H/T) termine sa carrière sous les machoires du prédateur de service.
Et elle ne se réveillera pas comme neuve au son d'un bon vieux Rock n' roll , on n'est
pas dans "CHRISTINE". A propos, ça s'est passé en FRANCE et les photos sont extraites d'un (très vieux) NITRO. Merci à Raphaël Brunet de me les avoir fait parvenir. Le modèle est (était ..) une rare IMPERIAL LEBARON "Southampton" construite à 622 exemplaires seulement ! Les LeBaron se reconnaissaient aux doubles anneaux chromés des ailerons AR et aux sigles "LeBaron" sur les côtés et le coffre, les modèles normals n'ayant droit qu'à I.M.P.E.R.I.A.L en bas des ailes AV |

pictures show how little deference American cars received in the 1980s. Here a 4-door
hardtop 1959 Imperial ends her travels in the jaws of a utilitarian
predator. And she won’t wake up like new to the sound of vintage rock & roll - this isn’t the movie "Christine." It took place in France, by the way, and the photos are from an old copy of NITRO. Thanks, Raphaël Brunet, for having sent the pages to me. The car is a rare Imperial LeBaron Southampton, of which only 622 were produced. The LeBaron line is shown by the double chrome rings on the tailfins and by the LeBaron script on the flanks and trunk lid. "Base and Crown" models were entitled only to the name I.M.P.E.R.I.A.L low on the front fenders. |
